Who we work for

Maintenance for retail and storefront

A retail unit is judged from the pavement, and the parts that fail are the parts a customer touches on the way in.

Street-level retail takes more glass and door-hardware damage than any other property type we cover. The entrance is used hundreds of times a day, the glazing is exposed, and both are the first thing a customer forms an opinion from.

The other constant is turnover. Units change hands, staff change more often, and every change leaves keys in circulation that nobody has a record of.

What we get called for

  • Broken storefront glass, emergency board-up and permanent re-glazing
  • Entrance door closers, pivots, thresholds and alignment
  • Panic hardware and exit devices on required exits
  • Rekeying at unit turnover and after staff departures
  • Keypad, card reader and stockroom access control
  • Shopfront lighting, including window and display relamping
  • Fitting room, shelving and fixture installation
  • Painting, tile and making good between tenants
  • Pressure washing of frontage and walkways

How the work splits

What we do ourselves on a retail, and what we bring a licence in for.

Florida requires a licensed contractor for electrical, plumbing, HVAC and refrigeration at any job size, and for anything needing a permit in any trade. Everything else we perform with our own employees.

Performed by our technicians

  • Storefront glass repair, re-glazing and emergency board-up
  • All door hardware: closers, panic bars, thresholds, alignment
  • Locks, rekeying, keypads and reader hardware
  • Shelving, fixtures, trim and drywall
  • Painting, caulking and pressure washing
  • Relamping and fixture mounting

Coordinated through licensed contractors

  • Electrical, including display circuits, wiring and ballasts
  • HVAC for the sales floor and stockroom
  • Plumbing and restroom drainage
  • Full storefront replacement needing a permit and an NOA submittal

Why TrionX

How we approach retail work.

An open shopfront is not a repair backlog item

Broken glass overnight is a security exposure and an insurance question before it is a repair. Board-up is dispatched around the clock, photographed for the claim file, and followed by permanent glass on its own timeline once the unit is measured.

The closer is almost always the part that has gone

A commercial entrance fails gradually. Slamming, sticking and a door that will not latch each point at something different, and adjustment fixes a surprising number of complaints without a new unit.

Turnover work in one visit

Between tenants the list is usually locks, a door that has dropped, drywall, paint and a few fixtures. All of it is in-house, so it is one company, one visit sequence and one record rather than four vendors to schedule.

Common questions

Retail in Miami: questions we get asked

How quickly can you board up a broken storefront?

Board-up runs 24 hours a day, because an open shopfront overnight is a security and liability exposure rather than something that waits for the next working day. Permanent glass follows separately, since tempered and laminated units are made to order. See what happens in a board-up.

Do you replace whole storefronts?

Repair and re-glazing of an existing opening is performed by our own technicians. A full storefront replacement that needs a permit and a product approval submittal is a different job: that is coordinated through a licensed contractor, and we say so at survey rather than after the work starts.

Can you rekey a unit between tenants?

Yes, and it is one of the jobs we do most. A unit with several doors is usually finished inside a morning. We list every cylinder first, including stockroom, roof access and any gate or padlock, because those are the ones that get left off. See rekey or replace.

Do you work around trading hours?

Yes. Most retail work that makes noise, blocks the entrance or involves paint gets planned outside trading, and that belongs in the quote. Emergencies are dispatched whenever they happen, because an unsecured unit does not wait for a quiet moment.

Can you handle a full store fit-out or refresh?

We handle the trades within it that need no contractor licence: shelving and fixtures, drywall and trim, painting, tile, door hardware and locks. Electrical, plumbing and HVAC within a fit-out require licensed contractors, and any part of the work needing a permit does too, so those are coordinated.
