Doors and hardware for Miami grocery

Carts destroy grocery doors, and a cooler door that no longer seals is a refrigeration bill nobody traced back to a hinge.

Grocery doors take physical abuse from carts, trolleys and deliveries all day, in a building that cannot close for repairs. The entrance, the stockroom door and the cooler doors are the three that fail, and they fail on different clocks.

The cooler doors are the ones worth watching. Gaskets split, hinges drop and closers weaken, and every one of those loses cold air continuously while the refrigeration system works harder to compensate.

Our licensing and insurance position in full

Why TrionX

How we approach it.

A gasket is door hardware, not refrigeration

It needs no Florida contractor licence, our own technicians fit it, usually the same day, and it is frequently the actual cause of a cold room running warm.

Cart damage is predictable, so it is preventable

Door edge protection, guards and correctly specified thresholds cost a fraction of repeated frame repair on a store where trolleys hit the same point every day.

Exits get checked by pushing them

An inspector walks up and pushes once. Anything needing a second action fails, and anything added to the door, such as a chain or bolt, is the finding written up most often.

Common questions

Questions we get asked

Can you replace cooler and freezer door gaskets?

Yes, usually the same day. A gasket is door hardware rather than refrigeration equipment, so no Florida contractor licence is required and our own employees fit it. The refrigeration system behind the door is licensed work we coordinate separately.

Our entrance door has been hit by carts repeatedly. Options?

Repair the frame and threshold, then protect the point being struck. Door edge protection, guards and a correctly specified threshold cost a fraction of repeated frame repair, and on a store where trolleys hit the same place daily they pay back quickly.

Can door work happen while we trade?

Most of it, yes. Individual openings can be taken out of use for under an hour, and anything more disruptive gets planned before opening or overnight. Tell us your trading hours so it is scoped that way from the start.

What door items does a health inspection look at?

Gaps under doors, damaged surfaces around openings, doors that do not close and latch, and anything obstructing an exit. All of it is in-house work for us and none of it requires a Florida contractor licence.

Field notes on this.

Written for the people who have to make the call. More in our insights, and the vocabulary in the glossary.

A cooler door is cheaper than a compressor

Gaskets, hinges, closers and entrance repair are performed by our own employees, usually the same day, with no Florida contractor licence required. Refrigeration systems go to a licensed contractor.
